The Poopy Corral

Mike took a little drive this morning to a riding school in Medina to get some manure for the garden beds. The name of the manure facility? The Poopy Corral. Seriously, I can't make this stuff up. The beds are now nice and nourished, and very pungent. But, look at this picture, do you see that little tulip poking her head up? She's not scared of poop.

Lunch Box

Ethan's bento box turned out so yummy looking today that I just had to share!! I love making cute healthy lunches for him and he loves eating them! Alex and Mike both ask for bentos too. Mike eats lunch in the cafeteria at work, but I make him a mini bento for a snack, and Alex has ventured out of the hot lunch line for a bento box.

Spring Day

Ok, I am really not doing well with this blog. I miss doing it too. I have missed documenting a whole month. :( So, I am resolved to do better. It was gorgeous today, sunny and warm. We all headed into the backyard after school to play, and I remembered how much I love spring. It is so marvelous to get back outside. Amelia loves wandering around the back yard, and she is so cute, picking up sticks and things, and just enjoying the sunshine. The boys of course wrestled, ran around like crazies, poked each other with sticks, and threw frisbees over the fence.

Playing Guys

Isaac was playing with a Lego storm trooper, a pirate and a knight today. They had a purple plastic Easter egg for a spaceship. As he blasted them along in the spaceship they were asking, "are we there yet?"and he would answer "we're almost there, be patient." I asked him where they were going and he told me. Target.

Cake Contest

Tonight was the annual Cub Scout father-son cake decorating contest. The theme this year was "Your favorite thing about Scouting". Ethan had a wonderful time at scout camp last year, so he decided that an archery cake would be great. I baked the cake in the largest tier of my wedding cake pans, so it was HUGE! Dad and Ethan painstakingly cut and placed all the licorice on Tuesday night, and then the bow and arrow were put in place once we got to the church. Ethan won second place (silver), but i think he was most excited by getting to play with the bow and (suction cup) arrow after the cake was cut.

A Little Teapot

Amelia got a tea set for her birthday and she loves it. She is quite the little hostess, and carries her teapot around. She will pour for anyone who asks, and drink from her cup with a resounding slurp. Now we just have to get that pinky up....

Thaw

We finally have a bit of spring like weather today!! I know it can not last all the way until spring in MN, but it is nice even if it is just for today.
